Mr Giuliani filed for bankruptcy last month after he was ordered to pay $148m to Georgia election workers he defamed

Donald Trump’s former lawyer Rudy Giuliani has listed a claim against the one-term president over unpaid legal fees in a new bankruptcy filing.

The ex-New York City mayor includes a “possible claim for unpaid legal fees against Donald J Trump.” in the 26 January filing, which states that the amount is “undetermined.”

Mr Giuliani filed for bankruptcy last month, days after a federal judge ordered him to “immediately” pay more than $148m to a pair of Georgia election workers a jury determined he defamed.

Mr Giuliani represented Mr Trump in a string of unsuccessful lawsuits contesting the results of the 2020 election that he lost to Joe Biden.

Mr Trump’s legal fees owed to Mr Giuliani have previously been reported. The New York Times wrote in August 2023 that “Mr Trump has never explicitly told Mr Giuliani why he is effectively stiffing him, but the former president has pointed out that he lost the cases related to the election.”

You know, this may well be an avenue in which to undermine Trump’s desire to return to presidency. He still has a base, but you attack his wealth including his crony’s, and to try to make his candidacy financially unsustainable. Noam Chomsky said how much money you can throw at election campaigning is what ultimately dictates whether you could win or not.

Noam Chomsky also told us to mind our own business and shut up, when asked about his dealings with Jeffrey Epstein.

I thought you were joking. But after Googling, he had some associations with Epstein 😲

Many people have met Epstein etc and have done nothing shady, those people generally come out and say they only met him for dinner, etc. Chomsky didn’t say “I barely knew him and met for dinner” or some defense. When asked, Chomsky said “none of your business what my dealings with Epstein were” which to me is very damning

You’re not wrong, but context is important. Jerkass interviewer trying to force a gotcha moment runs with “he told me to shut up! Omg guilty”

Epstein sleazed around a LOT of places, notably science and university circles. Bill Barr’s dad knows.

I prefer to bag on Chomsky for not supporting Ukraine.

Slight twist here He’s not looking for the presidency. His goal is to get in disable the Justice Department and the Executive Department and turn it into a mini dictatorship. If he manages to get in he doesn’t have any money problems anywhere.

To be honest, none of this is really hitting him anyway. He owes shit tons of money to so many people, He’s just not going to pay any of them.

I also suspect he’s able to work this in a way where campaign finance isn’t quite as big of a deal. He already gets absolute free coverage for everything he does. If he didn’t rally in campaign in every red state would that really affect his base significantly? If he did really would it change any significant number of mines that wouldn’t vote for otherwise? The people who are or aren’t voting for him at this point already understand his goals. He could probably rally these people’s effectively on a YouTube video as he could in person
