Donald Trump skipped every GOP primary debate, but he is urging Joe Biden to debate him while ignoring similar calls from ex-U.N. ambassador Nikki Haley.
"Well, if I were him I’d want to debate me too. He’s got nothing else to do.”
Why would he debate someone who is not yet the Republican nominee? He isn’t declining all opportunities to debate up until the election. The only thing that debating him now would accomplish is cementing Trump as the de facto Republican nominee, which is obviously suboptimal.
Biden declining is a win for Trumps fans though

Not at all, unless Biden specifically says WHY he wont decline.
Of course, if Biden gives the right reason then obviously all the Trump fans will vote for him instead. /s

He wants to do it to appear as the clear Rep nominee. He doesn’t get to step over Haley if Biden’s not down.
Im not disagreeing, but trumpers will say Biden is scared and be emboldened.
