Looks like theres a final surprise in the form of a song in Apollo now that it’s closed.

Can anyone identify the artist?

EDIT: someone managed to find it. From Christian’s YouTube page:

A fun parody of Sarah McLachlan’s I Will Remember You performed by the incredible Zoe Wynns

I’m sad that Apollo is gone, but Memmy for Lemmy fills the hole left in my Home Screen just fine. The app has already progressed so far, it’s licensed under the GPL, and it has made my transition from Reddit to Lemmy flawless.

If you love Apollo, you might check out wefwef. It is incredible.

app also works on desktop but it seems optimized to work on mobile phones more than anything else

It’s a PWA, you can see instructions for how to install it by going to wefwef.app and then going to settings and clicking on ‘install app’

It’s saying the beta is full. I’m using one called wefwef which is really good.

Nice! I’m also playing around with wefwef as well, and it’s pretty reminiscent of Apollo! I think Memmy said they’d be releasing on the AppStore soon, so you shouldn’t have to wait much longer.

I’m pretty much new to all this lemmy stuff, who actually designs these apps? and how do they get paid?

Memmy’s been giving me issues with repeat comments today too.

I’m seeing repeated comments with different time stamps on wefwef too so I think it might be a greater Lemmy/lemmy.world issue
