For the record, I have had beef Wellington at Gordon Ramsay Steak, and I felt the same about that one too, so I don’t think that opinion has to do with the quality of my execution.
Agreed. Wellington is a fun thing to try (both eating and making) but the effort required does not equal the result. My husband and I made one for my dad’s birthday last year and while it was fun, we will probably never go through all that effort again short of a very, very good reason.
