      We’re having a moment.

Its not a good moment, but one of those, Brittany 2007 moments, where you are not quite sure where it is going.

If you were on the streets for BLM, if you confronted fascism directly at any point in the previous 5 years, its pretty much up to you to provide any real resistance to what is happening right now. We should probably consider the Federal government lost at this point. If nothing else, you shouldn’t count on anything favorable in-terms of decisions from any court in the next 8 months. And in-spite of the seemingly constant water-carrying by peoples both on lemmy, and throughout other media sources, Biden is pretty much the worst candidate we could be running and the whole ‘Oh we can’t have a primary, gotta go with Joe’ mentality/ strategy; it may have doomed us all.

Don’t expect voting to work. Its probably not going to work. Count on yourselves, your communities as you have them. Prepare to tuck in if you can’t get out. You’ve still got a bit of time.

Unless something drastic changes (remember, its equally likely to change drastically for the worse), were headed to a period of global fascism, largely because of the policies of pacification and non-resistance that Liberal and Leftist governments have used as a strategy against the right for the previous two decades. The half-a-loaf approach of Democrats is precisely what has put us in this, frankly, disastrous position. We need to come to grips with the fact that Democrats are as responsible, in their inane view of politics and refusal to depart with neo-liberalism/ corporatism, for why things are as bad as they are.

We’re knee deep in shit folks and there is a shit tsunami brewing. Put on your shit trudging boots and patch that shit-raincoat you bought in 2019-2020. Your gonna need it.
