Giving people water and food is not funding terrorism. Starving people, denying them basic human rights and killing inocent people is funding terrorism. Yes, the humanitarian aids will also benefit hamas, but that does not give us the right to deny people their basic human rights

Giving terrorists the ability to control the population is enabling terrorism. That’s how they’ve extended and maintained control of the strip for nearly two decades.

That the UN allowed UNRWA to reach this level of involvement is a tragedy on its own but this isn’t news, it’s been reported on for over a decade. That the UN has failed to act is the reason why the people are going to suffer. Trying to guilt nations into supporting terrorism under the guise of aid is disgusting as well.

UNRWA needs to be dismantled and the care of the people of Gaza should be handled by the UNHCR going forward. If the UN can’t coordinate it’s own agencies to transition this, that’s yet another failure of the institution and I’m still not blaming the countries that are withholding funds at this point. They’re right to do so until guarantees that the money isn’t going to be used to further conflict can be established.

Giving terrorists the ability to control the population is enabling terrorism.

And leaving a people that has nowhere to go without food, medicine and water, what would that be? I’m asking genuinely, even if Hamas completely controls the distribution of aids within Gaza in order to maintain control, do you really believe that withdrawing these aids (and therefore causing death and starvation) would be at all justifiable?

That would be the problem Hamas wants. I absolutely believe this is an absolute requirement in order to dismantle Hamas.

The reality of this tragic situation is that the vast majority of deaths in this conflict are the direct result of the actions of the power group running the strip. Yes people will die in order to free Palestinians from the grips of Hamas. If only the UN had heeded the past decade of calls to investigate UNRWA this would have been avoided. The blame doesn’t fall on those who are pulling funding, it belongs to UNRWA and Hamas.

There is no answer here and that’s by design. You cannot continue with the current conditions, that must be obvious to everyone after the past few months.

Its very noble of you to stand up for starving millions of people to achieve your desired political outcome, bravo.

ELI5 how do you organise and distribute a humanitarian aid for 2.3M people in a war torn country, without the needed infrastructure and people on the ground? Shall we also mention that Israel is doing very little to streamline the delivery of this humanitarian aid, actively blocking it either entering the country or reaching the whole of Gaza?

If this isn’t a collective punishment, what is? And it also happens to be a war crime. Do you refuse to acknowledge Israel’s involvement of this war crime? Or is Israel some special country for which international laws don’t apply?

This is the problem Hamas manufactured. The sad reality is you can’t dismantle UNRWA and Hamas without further human suffering.

People have been identifying this problem for a decade, if only the UN had heeded these warnings this all could have been avoided. The fault isn’t with the funding nations.

You do realise that any humanitarian organisation needs to co-ordinate its actions with the local authorities in the territory to make sure that they can deliver the help. And in the case of Gaza this seems to be Hamas. I am sure that every non profit or humanitarian organisation that operates in Gaza has established some kind of communication with Hamas, shall we disband all of them then? Like WHO, WFP, the Red Crescent, UNICEF, …

But hey, let’s change them without any plan how or who’s going to be responsible for the humanitarian aid during an active war conflict. This is a wonderful idea!

Just because the civilians in Gaza didn’t suffer enough.

Did you catch the Hamas server farm placed directly under UNRWA headquarters that hit the news yesterday? The electrical being Fed from the HQ.

UNRWA is a fucking terrorist organization. They don’t deserve a dime.

Unfounded allegations. Where is the independent proof, or are we all now believing the IDF propaganda?

This sure seems to be like the story about the Hamas headquarter under Al Shifa Hospital https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alleged_military_use_of_al-Shifa_hospital#:~:text=Amnesty International said on 23,credible evidence" for the allegation.

And don’t you find it a bit fishy that this comes days after the preliminary ICJ ruling, one day after which Israel started their campaign to discredit UNRWA, by stating that their employees took part in the 7th of October attack, but conveniently missed to provide any proof, neither to the UN, nor to any of their so called allies.

LMFAO. Unfounded just like the thousands of texts and the employees who’ve been verified by UNRWA.

Now we’re seeing the ‘journalist’ Al Jazeera has been pushing was a Hamas commander.

This is all becoming quite clear now that the information is flowing. Yet you simps can’t seem to handle it. Interesting how you’ll accept what Hamas says without question but you refuse the photos and files that are pouring out. It would be funny if people weren’t dying because of this stupidity.

The fact that you accept Israel’s evidence without question suggests that you are a Hasbara troll spreading FUD.
