The U.S., Israel’s top ally, said it instead hopes to broker a cease-fire and hostage-release agreement between Israel and Hamas, and envisions a wider resolution on the war sparked by the militant group’s Oct. 7 attack. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has called Hamas’ demands “delusional.”

Netanyahu also opposes Palestinian statehood, which the U.S. calls a key element in a broader vision for the normalization of relations between Israel and regional heavyweight Saudi Arabia. His Cabinet adopted a declaration Sunday saying Israel “categorically rejects international edicts on a permanent arrangement with the Palestinians” and opposes any unilateral recognition of a Palestinian state.

Netanyahu has vowed to continue the Gaza offensive until Israel achieves a “total victory” over the Hamas militant group and plans to expand it to Gaza’s southernmost city of Rafah, where more than half the enclave’s 2.3 million Palestinians have sought refuge.

The “hospital bombing” Was a Hamas rocket, probably not intentional. When Hamas fires hundreds of rockets in the general direction of your enemy’s population centers, some don’t make it all the way there.

sending out kill squads into the streets

Yeah that’s a military patrol. Yeah a military will kill their enemies when there’s a war. They form up into squads. This is what happens in a war.

destroying any and all infrastructure required to grow and preserve food, and to get potable water; and denying your victims any and all humanitarian aid.

Yes war is destructive. There is humanitarian aid going in. There is a border between Egypt and Gaza, it’s mostly just Egypt is being weird causing problems. They had some strange deals going with Hamas, but it looks like that’s changing. With the capabilities of Hamas degraded Egypt no longer fears Hamas linking up with the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt and causing problems for them. So it’s beginning to look like Egypt will start allowing refugees out of Gaza.

Mostly this is about putting pressure on Hamas to release the hostages. These guys are psychopaths and won’t do that just because they want to end the war. They don’t care what happens to Palestinian civilians as long as they’re safe in their underground bunkers. There needs to be a threat to the lives of Hamas themselves to force them to release the hostages. There isn’t going to be peace if they continue to hold Israelis hostages. That should be obvious to everyone now.

A lot of the humanitarian problems are because there are so many people in Rafah, a place that doesn’t have the infrastructure to handle that many people. The civilians will be evacuated either to what’s left of their homes to the north because this was never about ethnic cleansing or Nakba or whatever. Or they can go to Egypt. If Hamas refuses to give up the hostages and surrender, then the only ones in Rafah will be those that want to be there for the last battle of what’s left of Hamas.

    It’s almost over, children.

Reductive logic and lies by omission. Congratulations on defending genocide. Israel has destroyed several major hospitals, routinely shoots unarmed people, bombs places with no military value, and blocks aid from entering Gaza.

The reporting on this is overwhelming at this point. You either condone it or not.

The “hospital bombing” Was a Hamas rocket

This was independently verified as an IDF rocket from multiple sources. Also what about the other 7 hospitals bombed?

Yeah a military will kill their enemies when there’s a war.

Snipers are executing children with bullets to the head. Men are released blindfolded to run and be executed via bullet. This is not what many would be considered, “normal war killing”

There is humanitarian aid going in. There is a border between Egypt and Gaza, it’s mostly just Egypt is being weird causing problems.

Not only is the IDF stopping aid into Gaza as are Israel citizens.

A lot of the humanitarian problems are because there are so many people in Rafah, a place that doesn’t have the infrastructure to handle that many people

Interesting that Israel specifically chose this as a place to evacuate civilians to, and despite that still decided to do both a bombing and ground invasion.

what’s left of their homes to the north

There is nothing left. The IDFs entire plan was the destruction of civilian infrastructure and we’re already seeing Israeli settlers moving into these western locations.
