I try to post what I have some knowledge in (late middle ages/early Renaissance music), and the truth is it’s much harder to know what music was played on those ancient instruments. That’s why I tend to post “demonstrations” of those, with academics explaining what they know.
That said, I’d love for more people to post in here! If you see something interesting, please do share. I’ll look for more ancient instruments in future posts, too; I only do 1 per day to avoid flooding /all.

I wouldn’t expect there to be notation for example, or for us to know what ancient music actually would have sounded like, but seeing some one dicking around on ancient instrumentation might be kinda cool. Seeing an early music community, I was surprised to not find that. After I read your response, I figured, “hell why not contribute” and googled for early music. Wikipedia then slapped me in the face with https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Early_music which is apparently a somewhat technical term, and I’ve misunderstood the topic.
