Shadow of the Colossus was one of the most visually impressive games on the PS2. The map was pretty huge and had some of the best lighting of games at the time.
I remember Resident Evil 4 feeling pretty ground breaking in terms of visuals.
With Gran Turismo 4 I will say I was shocked at how good it looked when it came out. I think racing games have always been ahead of the curve for realism in graphics.
From a tech perspective I’m not quite sure what truly pushed the limits of the console the most though.
