You can take that two ways, you know.

The believer would say that there is no hate that can’t be overcome by the love of Christ.

The believer is a huge sucker if they think “Jesus” actually existed.

We were chatting recently, and I realized that no one ever taught me that there were monsters coming into my bedroom at night. I just knew it. I believe it’s in our DNA to think that there are angles and devils out there. A few folks figured out how to make money off the idea.

At least, that you can remember. I had recurring nightmares about the chase scene from The Shining during my childhood and adolescence even though I’d never seen it, then saw the film again as a teen and it all made sense. I can only assume I watched it with my dad at a point when I was still young enough that I wasn’t forming long-term memories, so that terror hung out in my subconscious.

But, you’re absolutely right in that our species fills those unknown spaces with make believe. We always have and always will.

you evolved for hundreds of thousands of years to fear the dark. 2000 tears is not neraly enough for something to be stored in your DNA, and NOTHING will be stored, unless it makes a real difference in you ability to have offspring.

Nope, apparently Jesus doesn’t like it if you take it both ways.

      Stupid sexy Jesus paintings.

And yet those same believers spread hate everywhere and do it in the “name” of their “religious freedom.” (though there is no passage in any Christian text that says your religious beliefs allow you to hate others). Apparently bigotry and ignorance are kinds of hate that are so large, they cannot be overcome by any love of Christ, and in fact seem to be exacerbated by it.
