I’m really hoping for Lemmy to take off, but all I see is Reddit-related posts like this one.

The main subs, like gaming for example, have very few posts with just a handful of upvotes and rarely any comments. Not to mention the more game-specific subs either don’t exist or have like 30 people on them. This was supposed to be the moment with the highest friction but not much is going on, and I’m afraid that people will quickly forget about what happened with Reddit and go back to it soon.

    Let’s hope not.

That’s just what happens when platform shifts happen. It’ll take a while for people to disperse a bit and declutter the feed.

Once people on reddit start noticing the decrease in content or the increase in reposting bots, there’ll be more movement towards here. We’re still in our infancy and working through massive growing pains just dealing with the current influx of people. We just have to give it time and also make sure that we’re participating in communities.
