My Electrolux Pure A9 air purifier has been running daily for a couple of years and the fan has become noticeably whinier and grindier.
I’ve been looking for a service manual without luck, obviously Electrolux does not provide them.
Any advice how to lubricate the fan would be much appreciated!
I took a quick look at their manual. This stood out to me:
Maybe you can take the filter canister out, turn the unit upside down, and then add a few drops of your favorite lubricant to the motor or bearings.
I’m guessing though — perhaps you can’t easily access that area from the filter area. Take a peek and see.
That reminds me, I need to do this on my Levoit air purifier, too.
Yeah, well, I didn’t plan to stick my fingers in a moving fan, but cheers for the heads up. :)
I did some googling but didn’t really find anything useful. I guess there be plastic rubbing against plastic, don’t know if something in particular should be applied. Guess I’ll go for some sewing machine oil and see what happens.
Ah, I think you misunderstood the intention of that quote.
Because the manual says that, the fan is likely easily accessible once you remove the filters. From there, with it unplugged (!!!), flip it and maybe you can easily apply that grease.
Ooh, I see! That’s a clever deduction. Thanks!
