WTF in what way is this a good thing, bullfighting is ritualized celebrated torture
It is only her second bullfight in four years, after a hiatus that began when a bull gored and nearly killed her in 2019. She couldn’t eat solid food for three weeks and needed reconstructive surgery on her face.
Good. You chose to be there and had a carefully constructed set of advantages to give a near certain victory. The bull was forced into playing an unfair game which it didn’t understand, to the death, and he persevered and overcame. I hope they set the bull free and gave him a medal and a nice place to live.
A french movie I watched recently had a bullfighting scene in which the fighter’s goal was to grab a flower from the bull’s horns. That seems like a legit variation.
Yeah. You still get to prove your courage and test yourself against this monster threatening animal, which I sincerely do understand the appeal of wanting to do. But nobody has to risk getting tortured or killed except the individual who affirmatively signed up for that as a possible outcome. Sounds like a win win.
