I don’t know about “so many more”. The real way to get more users with as little effort as possible is to improve the existing user experience in the app, and add small crucial features. Even if it would be nice to have Linux support. If they can’t make a functional platform they sure as hell can’t support Linux well.
Yeah they’ve kind of dug themselves a nice hole. They can keep getting casual gamers who aren’t really part of the gaming community easily, as long as they fix up their platform and add important features. But they’ll have to earn the trust of gamers back over a long time if they want to rival steam.

The gutteral hatred for epic for most pc gamers seems emotional at this point. I don’t know if there’s anything they can do to fight that.
