I don’t know how your elementary school worked but we used to write on paper with a x-height line and a ascender line. As you can see I still need those lines lol. I wonder why these are not the standard lines you get on your lined paper. They are much better then the single big ones. The total line height is only slightly more than standard lines. If I had kept writing on this, maybe my handwriting might not have suffered as much.

    French lining is a bit cluttered indeed. Still interested in trying them out in the future. I should have stated that I am from the Netherlands as the lining differs from country to country. Nice to know you guys have (had) the same paper in Belgium.

      The only appeal of that lining to me would be if I needed to use insane amounts of paper for schoolwork because it is very cheap in summer before school starts again (I live in France)… even then I might decide to spend more on simpler lining.
