      Great Horned Owl wiki:

      Mean body weight is 1,608 g (3.545 lb) for females and 1,224 g (2.698 lb) for males.

      Owls are about 60% feathers, but that still seems impressive for that little kid.

      I got to handle a Screech Owl this week and it was about the size and weight of an empty soda can. The leather glove was heavier! 😁

        I once had the opportunity to pet an owl and it’s kinda weird how the feather-shape offers almost no resistance and underneath is just a typical bird shape. I’ll stick to petting cats in the future.

          I just did a write up of my owl holding experience and that texture of the feathers compared to any other was my biggest shock. The softness and how they were held together much more loosely than other birds was so amazing to experience.

          Cats are just land-owls, so they’re pretty close.
