Can we just go back to BBS where you have dial in with your land line to post on a board? The difficulty of use acted like an awesome protection from any community growing too large too fast and was super easy to moderate. I seriously was thinking the other day I need to see if newsgroups we’re still a thing. It was so cool being able to dial up, refresh the threads and then read offline at any time without having to refresh or navigate multiple 20mb web pages… That meme the other day about scraping got me jonesing for barbones simplicity.
