    But seriously, this could be a longer-term issue for Planet Fitness. Their business model in large part relies on people paying for a membership they do not use and never have the drive to cancel. The people who canceled their memberships were likely already not using the gym, so they would have no reason to renew their membership if Planet Fitness changes its course. That means the boycott could have a longer fiscal impact, but Planet Fitness has no reason to change from their established course and risk angering another customer bar.

    Maybe this could cause Planet Fitness to lean harder into being publicly progressive in the hopes of maintaining or growing their customers in the non-angry segment. It is interesting to consider.
