The man said he had gotten stuck while looking for his phone, but police say he fled a crime scene.

An Australian man has been freed after spending 36 hours trapped in a drain network.

He first entered a drain in Brisbane on Saturday “while trying to retrieve his phone”, according to authorities.

        Reminds me of an old scifi story where an underground prison was actually upside down and secretly using artifical gravity to mislead all of the prisoners. The real way to escape was to go down.
