"So ‘Severance,’ we’re shooting it now,” said Stiller.

“It’s coming soon and we don’t have an actual date but I’ve been working on the second season of it for a long time, since we had a strike, an actor and writer strike, back last year — it went from like May to October. So that cut us off for a while. And we’re going to be shooting until probably like the end of April and it will be coming out sometime after that soon."

I’m the opposite. Seasons with fewer episodes tend to be higher quality, especially from a writing standpoint. Makes sense since they have to be more concise and don’t have an allowance for filler and such. Everything that happens feels more deliberate and compelling and not just entertaining enough to keep viewers sorta engaged. Also, I can watch many different things in my limited free time if I don’t have to commit 20 hours per show per season.

That last bit is more about seasons dropping at once rather than over 5 months…

Which makes the 2-3 year wait for next season so much worse.

Bing it over a week and 3 years later you get to resolve the cliffhanger.
