Freeze 'em, heat 'em, blast them into empty space; with survival skills unlike any other organism on the planet, those hardy critters known as tardigrades will only come back for more.

    I’ve always thought we should throw some of these little guys on every probe we send out.

    The chances of them landing on a planet with just enough life they can significantly replace native organisms is practically non existent.

    Either there’d be no life or lots of life.

    And on the chance Earth really is the only planet with life, eventually our solar system dies, and there’s no greater accomplishment than spreading life if we’re really all there is.

    They weight practically nothing, and the potential payoff would be Earths greatest (really only) accomplishment on a cosmic timescale.

      Aliens find one of our probe discover tardigrades and assume they’re the creators of the probe. They then discover earth and see that tardigrades have been using humans to build their spaceships.
