    For an out of universe answer it’s probably because they want to bring more viewer attention to the cameo to say “hey, this person is not a normal character”

      I think it’s that it’s hard to draw a real person in a way that is identifiable, while also following the style of the simpsons.

      The bulbous eyes and rounded features removes the identifiable facial features of the celebrity so they don’t do it.

      I think it’s because the cartoon characters were designed in the 1980s and the celebrities are first appearing in current year. If they have a compelling new character it’s usually drawn better than Bart etc. too.

      Seriously only Bart, Lisa and Maggie have the where does their head end and hair begin question
