I’m visibly trans and figured we’d not get along. Dude’s just scared and been given the wrong outlets. We talk now, we disagree on things, we agree on things, he hasn’t worn trump stuff in like a year, he’s switched from driving a vehicle bordering on baby’s first info warriors to just a regular truck. If I were to join a group calling to kill or silence him he’d be going the exact opposite direction he is now. I don’t know who he’ll vote for this time, which is a good thing, because a year ago I know for sure he’d have voted trump. Yeah it’s not perfect, yeah it might be slow, but radicalizing my neighbor by trying to take his vote definitely won’t help
