I can agree with fuck Varg, however I can separate art from the artist. If it were Warslut from Destroyer 666 for example, I cannot. EDIT: what I’m trying to say is I can appreciate this song from a purely musical standpoint and it doesn’t include any racist material.
Well yes of course, but the whole point of me even posting this was to compare between this song and the other song I posted in the community. I aint no fucking nazi if thats what you are getting at, it’s not like I bought anything from them or wear any of their merch. Plenty of artists are fucking dodgy. The guitarist from Iced Earth is a terrorist, Michael Jackson, Mayhem, the list goes on. At the end of the day, I meant no offense by it, merely comparing a couple songs. Unfortunately, Burzum/Mayhem occupy a huge portion of BM culture and it’s been an age old debate about whether you can separate art from the artist. I think you can guess my take on the matter from the fact I posted this, so I apologise if you were offended by this. No one is condoning nazis or forcing you to listen to the song. It is the sad truth that there are a lot of artists with bad political views, many of which we may not even know about. But the way I see it, as long as the art in no way resembles those incorrect views, then there is no problem, as long as you don’t go around worshipping its creator XD. Thanks for reading my ridiculous rant. EDIT: I upvoted your comments to show appreciation for this debate, as I think it is an important subject to discuss, after all this is only my opinion.
I don’t make excuses for anybody doing shady shit and I don’t jam nazi bands. You can make excuses and go to their shows or pump interest into them on forums which will make more little nazis or you can tell them to fuck off.
You know what that’s fine, I understand your point of view. I can see we aren’t getting anywhere with this. If it makes you feel any better I won’t post any more Burzum songs. Thank you.
Fuck Varg dude. No need to bring Nazi metal over here to Lemmy.

Sketch. Plenty of awesome music made by not nazis.
