The backstory here is that in order to help shirk work, Gaston has invented a rubber doll that looks exactly like himself.
Now I get the sense that these panels didn’t originally appear in sequence like this, but were sprinkled in to an album, helping to keep the trick working for as long as possible.

Hahaha, I’m with you on that.
So, I can *mostly* understand the simple French used in Gaston (and I personally like Dutch for some reason), but since English is the base-language here, I have to make sure that either the comics content is either in English, or else spend extra-time translating the text for the readers.
I’ll just say this:
IMO our community here is both a labor of love, but also takes a lot of work for me as a disabled-person. If you feel like helping out with some Gaston content? Je serais reconnaissant. :D

First of all, let me just say I’m so glad this community exists. I fled 9gag only recently, and I’m still exploring lemmy as is, but I’d be happy to contribute. Cant really make any solid promises beyond Gaston (yet) as a lot in my life is changing and I’m not entirely sure where I’ll end up.
But as this group has inspired me to dive more (back) into comics, I’ll do what I can.
