Imagine going from one of America’s heros after 9/11 to absolutely tanking your reputation and financial well being for the Cheeto in Chief

That dumbass was nobody’s hero in NYC, especially after the towers fell. The part of the city I grew up in was too far to have lost any firefighters directly, but people in my neighborhood sure knew some of the guys at ground zero.

Imagine the schmuck mayor, with all the loud-mouth ballyhoo of his predecessor Ed Koch, but literally none of his wit or charm, clamoring up to the stage in front of the city that he’s organizing everything.

The feds and the brass in the corners Giuliani wasn’t even aware of built the city up against a repeat. 3.5 million passengers a month through NYC’s airports, secure. 11.6 million rides a month on the subway system, also secured.

Nobody is under any illusion that the guy who lost every lawsuit he brought against people as the mayor, was the same guy who kept the city safe afterwards.

he had a pretty shitty reputation before 9/11 too.

most americans didn’t know who he was, or only vaguely knew that he was the mayor of NYC. so when 9/11 happened… he managed to seize on it as a publicity stunt. which… case in point, actually got more people killed because the pile wasn’t exactly a safe place to be chilling.
