Absolutely, sorry I don’t mean to sound like I am arguing with you - sorry if it comes across like that! I agree completely with what you’ve said and you’ve been really helpful with things I didn’t know about. I’m loving Lemmy and want it to succeed and I’m just coming from a place of genuine concern and wanting to see the discussions had, especially where I have dealt with these issues in passing in my day job!

Oh not at all! I totally took this comment thread as just a legit discussion, not an argument, so you’re good. I hope I didn’t sound like I was making a rebuttal. I was just trying to give more info and context, that’s all!

Lol, tone over text is just hard to convey properly isn’t it? Probably doesn’t help that Internet culture is neck deep in trolling and stirring up unnecessary controversy and drama.

Not at all, just wanted to make sure! I do sometimes wonder if people question if it is a legit discussion, especially given my obviously grown up and sensible user name haha.

Hey, it’s a great username XD. Yeah, I think oftentimes passionate people will see a fight where there isn’t one, but sometimes we all gotta chill out and remember that there’s a human on the other end.

Anyways, welcome to the Fediverse! Cheers 🍺
