28-year-old Poppy Williams has today spoken to the media about how she managed to buy her first home simply by making her own lunches to save money, and winning the lottery.
Yes I know this is oniony and that’s why it’s hilarious and I wanted to do the math anyway. My math says that if she hadn’t won £400,000 in the lottery, it would’ve taken her 282 years to save up £400,000 at the rate of saving £1300 every 11 months. Someone please check my math because I am an average C student. How was my math?
If she saves £1,300 every eleven months, how long would it take her to save up £400,000?

Maybe 282 years if you count interest. Otherwise your math is wrong - 400,000/1300 is just under 308 yearsI misread, 11 months not 12
Edit: I checked with 11 months and your math is (basically) correct. 282 years is 399927.27
