Krespy Kreme is a smokescreen. Nothing he says matters. He is part of the kabuki act and doesn’t have any meaningful role.

Chris Christie represents the traditional / Moderate Republicans and does have appeal. He is playing the long game in which Trump’s baggage eliminates him from 2024.

I wish I could believe that, or that I had evidence of this happening. All the moderate Republicans are long gone, IMHO.

I agree for the most part, but Christie’s actions recently make it seem like some of the less insane republicans are at least starting to try to hit back at trump, if not the maga wing of the party.

I don’t hold much hope of him swaying the brainworms that have infested the party, but good luck to him on that front. But I’ll gladly watch them go after their own if it weakens trump and his toadies.

Or try a different take on CC. He is playing the spoiler so Republicans can say, oh now TFG has been vetted in a trial by fire. It’s all an act is what I think.

How do you figure? He is quite literally the most unpopular governor in NJ history and abandoned the state to pursue a job in Trump’s administration.

You are not wrong, but not being popular in New Jersey doesn’t equal not being popular in the greater United States. The man is a pure ass to everyone around him, but that is a trait Conservative Americans like. They want a loudmouth ass who will scream at clouds. He has a long history of working with both parties and getting things done. Don’t underestimate him when Trump is knocked out. Can he beat Biden, doubtful, but he can win the Republican nomination.

Historically, the guy who can’t even win his home state doesn’t win the country. But I guess stranger things have happened.

I will admit that he’s had more of a spine in terms of being consistent in his criticism of Trump since their initial “breakup.” Most other members of the GOP talk out both sides of their mouth, criticizing Trump one week and sucking his dick the next (Ted and Mitch come to mind first).
