The BNSF freight train was carrying gasoline and odorless propane when it derailed near Manuelito, New Mexico, according to the NTSB.

The Apache County Sheriff’s Office, which was one of the law enforcement units that responded to the incident, said in an update the derailment is being treated as a hazardous materials incident.

like, we don’t hear about most accidents… the rail companies spend a great deal of effort and money to keep it that way. but … there’s been a lot of that leaking into the news.

(maybe they should have listened to the fucking union?)

It always frustrates me when people say Biden is pro union. He put some good picks on the NLRB, picks he probably doesn’t know the first thing about.

But like most spineless politicians, the moment the rail cos threatened “the economy”… nope. Cant have that.

Wonder if it occurred to him that he could have used the same law to force the companies to accept nornal fucking business practices and perfectly reasonable safety measures.

Oh and before some one chimed in… yes Biden did work to get them more after the fact. But it’s not part of the labor contract… that “more” ain’t worth the paper it’s printed on
