But this line, yes. Very yes. Most of my jobs have been like this. It’s just like, I’m only here because they pay me to be. I only do what I need to in order to not get fired.
Why are so many people adamant on seeing someone being “enthusiastic” and “high-energy”? Don’t they realize how exhausting it is to maintain that for more than an hour?
Depending on the job, it makes sense - customer service ones in particular. But it’s on the employer to have a working environment that inspires enthusiasm.

“Lacks enthusiasm” in this case really means “doesn’t feign enthusiasm”.
