    Long Eared Owl by trev.bird

    This one the new off as the facial disc is a much different color than the North American ones I am familiar with.

      This one is my favorite. Is his face differently colored because of environment? Or because he’s juvenile?

        I like it too, since it was able to fool me what type it was.

        I believe the color morph is environmental. There is this post about localized Tawny Owl color morphs which seems to be a similar situation.

          Oh yeah! I even upvoted that post lol. That is truly a dramatic color shift. Really fascinating.
