Bloody Samsung think a base S24 for €900 is cheap. Not to mention the shitty Exynos it comes with in Europe.

Agreed. As long as Samsung keep providing inferior hardware to the non US/Canada world, it will remain a no from me - “specs sheet suggested the two non-Ultra flagships will come with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 only in the US and Canada, all the other markets are getting the Exynos 2400 treatment.”

Why on earth would you want the un-rootable variant we get stuck with in the states? Own your hardware damnit.

I agree with wanting to root your device but banking apps dislike when you root your device. So I’m conflicted if I would ever do.

Depends on app I guess, but I never had any issues with Magisk hide feature including Intune root detection for Company Portal app.

That said I do not think I would have a use for any app now that requires root. I used Adaway in the past, have switched to Blokada now which works quite well. Have not switched my first non rooted phone yet so no idea how problematic it will be to migrate app data but most important apps I have either store everything in online account or there is an export/import data option.

Huh, I didn’t realize shipping was taxed too. That really sucks

Better. The shipping is added to the total and the sum of both is taxed. So high value shipping (like heavy stuff) is even more expensive.

And on top comes 6€ if the tax wasnt paid beforehand (for example at checkout). Usually DHL should step in, pay it upfront and you need to pay DHL the VAT and 6€ ont top for an import handling fee.

Would you be able to elaborate more on rebranded Chinese part?

My understanding is that Samsung makes their own phones of all models.

Taiwan isn’t part of China but otherwise could potentially see where you’re coming from

Samsung makes most tech parts now. Even most of iPhones are manufactured by Samsung now.
