I just finished this and really enjoyed it. What did you guys think of it?
I’m finishing up Robots and Empire then I’ll start Yumi. How would you rate it versus other Cosmere works? No spoilers please.
It’s very much a romance novel, so you’d be disappointed if you went in expecting epic action stuff. I haven’t read all of cosmere, but as for quality, I’d say it’s way above Edgedancer & Dawnshard, and probably a bit below the Emperor’s Soul.
This actually sounds good, I may have to give it a read. I haven’t been much impressed with the secret projects so far, how would you compare it to the 2 that have come out so far?
I couldn’t tell you because I haven’t read them. I did try to read Tress, but got distracted quickly. Some other time.

I haven’t started it yet because it is a Cosmere book and I have fallen behind on that universe. Is there anything I should read before I pick it up?
That’s a good question! I think you could read this first, but doing so may spoil some things about the Stormlight Archive IF you read some sentences very carefully and commit them to memory. Don’t do that if you intend to read this first, or just read Stormlight before Yumi.
I liked it quite a bit for the first three quarters or so but I felt the end was a huge info dump. Normally he manages the world building in a way where it’s not a huge leap to understand what had happened but in this case there were multiple layers of the narrator saying “oh, you’re confused?! Of course you are! Here’s an info dump about the cosmere”.
I’ve read everything cosmere, but I’m not very happy with the more recent books that expect cosmere knowledge to make the story enjoyable or even understandable. And I feel like he’s getting pretty lazy with that lately (though maybe the secret projects not having a third party editor has something to do with it in this case)
I mostly agree. I imagine I’d be pretty confused if I hadn’t read Stormlight and Warbreaker first.
