I haven’t watched all series yet so my interpretation is that if you go by star dates some things don’t match?

What the other commenter said is right - it’s referencing a DS9 episode where they went back in time and participated in the classic TOS episode ‘The Trouble with Tribbles’. If you haven’t seen it yet: they used real footage from the episode, and the editing was pretty impressive. It was a nice homage to the original series.

DS9 is my absolute favorite, they pushed the envelope so often. I still choose to believe that the entirety of the Star Trek universe is just the fever dream of 1950’s author Benny Russel.

It’s my favourite, too. I’m rewatching it with my partner now; it’s her first time. She’s really enjoying it, and I’m so happy 😊

It’s wild. My wife is also on her first run through. So far she loved VOY, was lukewarm with TNG, is over the moon with DS9 and Sisko, and we’re only on S2.

The conversations and relationship discoveries ST facilitates is just another of the series added bonuses.

Damn, I slept on DS9 because it felt too slow paced compared to TOS, TNG, and VOY. Maybe I should give it another shot

DS9 was before it’s time in some ways and benefits from binge watching.

Try it once more. Season 1 and 2 are slow as far as I remember. As soon as Cisco grows a beard, that’s when it really takes off.

It’s absolutely slower and different (and I don’t rewatch it as often as TOS/TNG), but I think it’s unique and fun. Whenever I watch TOS or TNG, I always imagine what it would be like if we followed life on one of the outposts they visit and never show again. Taking place in a fixed location feels more “slice of life” and continuous, at the trade-off of losing the sense of exploration and discovery.

As a serialized show, they take the time to build their characters to the benefit of the viewer. Occasionally, there’s a “bottle episode” detached from the main story. This meme’s core is one of the best examples.

I felt the same and was pretty bored with it in the beginning, but holy shit it’s a good series, it’s made me cry more than once. I think I enjoy it more than TNG.

There are lists out there of episodes to watch and episodes to skip.

Ds9 is great, the first season or 2 are a bit slow, but once Sisko loses the hair and gains that goatee, that’s when it goes from alright to the best trek imo. Plus it has all the Jeffery Combs you need.
