They LET us KEEP our data… so they’re NOT (yet) using their market power to do what they want?
I think this headline got it wrong: If MS wants to do business with Europe, they have to follow our privacy laws or face hufe fines and ultimately the boot (which would benefit nobody).
It has nothing to do with GDPR, I promise. I came up with it on my own because I care about the data of our…I mean the data privacy of our customers.

They LET us KEEP our data.
No, not at all!
They let us GIVE them our data, and all their software makes us generous with it.
This is the best summary I could come up with:
LONDON (AP) — Microsoft said Thursday that it is upgrading its cloud computing service to let customers store all personal data within the European Union instead of having it flow to the U.S. where national privacy laws don’t exist.
The changes apply to services including Azure, Microsoft 365, Power Platform, and Dynamics 365, the Seattle-based tech company said.
Brussels and Washington have spent years wrangling over the safety of EU citizens’ data that tech companies store in the U.S. following revelations by former National Security Agency contractor Edward Snowden that the American government eavesdropped on people’s online data and communications.
Later this year, Microsoft will start making sure technical support data is kept within Europe.
It also plans a paid option for initial tech support response from within the EU.
Amazon last year rolled out independent cloud infrastructure for the EU as it looked to address strict regulations that companies and public sector organizations face.
The original article contains 243 words, the summary contains 155 words. Saved 36%. I’m a bot and I’m open source!
What a bullshit show.
It is worth nothing as long as there are any admins still sitting inside of Usa who have (or can gain) access to these systems.
Or any bosses of such admins.
Or any police, or other officials, or persons with weapons.
Because of the CLOUD Act this won’t matter.
