Oh, they’re definitely the one place in the world that are a no brainer about their policy towards the events. 100% makes sense. It’s just that a suit like this is meaningless.

Even if they lose the result won’t be enforced, but it has the potential to lose them a lot of face on the international stage.

Being real? Nah. Neither the US or UK will have any consequences that matter, regardless of how the suit plays out. Absolutely nobody will care at all. I’m not trying to be a dick, but that’s just not how the world currently works. Even with the loss of influence the UK has dealt with post-brexit, it won’t change anything for them in any real terms. Maybe a few people will make some noise, but that’s it.

And the US is still way too powerful to give two shits about “face” on that scale. The point is to maintain support of a very useful ally. Until and unless things go even crazier, so that the American population rises up in a major way, or other US allies apply weight to a change in policy, this suit is a waste of resources.

Can my Country’s shit politicians please fucking stop. First they ignore the International Criminal Court warrants for wanted persons, then they choose to not be involved with the Ukrainian war because it’s not our war (PS they love sucking that Russian cock). But suddenly when there is a war Isreal is involved in and the big bad West we must drop everything and be . The Gaza war is atrocious and like all wars I believe they should sieze to exist. But wishful thinking aside let’s say SA gets its wish where Isreal, US and UK stop the war and support, pull all the troops out, will Hamas never again attack Israel ever again? How can SA’s ANC ensure peace in the middle east

If Israel stops its occupation of Palestine? Maybe.

Maybe, but realistically I do not believe so. Unless both of them agree to mutual existence like for example the two state solution (doubtful both or even all three will agree) There are no easy answers, one side believes this is their land and not the others and visa versa. Now innocent blood will be spilled, it’s horrific

No, it should stop, I hope the war would stop. But my opinion is my country has no say in the matter, why isn’t one of the middle east governments not taking Israel to the ICJ since they have actual skin in the game, any instability would affect them directly.

They’re all either on Iran’s side and therefore don’t have much international influence, or are deep on the Israeli dick.

Wait so no country in the middle east qualifies, I highly doubt Israel and Iran are the two worthwhile players in the middle east.

Neighbouring countries have an obligation, especially if they are in good standing with the country to speak up. I take my country South Africa that failed to speak up in the early 2000’s with Zimbabwe when they were fucking up, we refused to speak up, now I think our government is partially responsible for allowing Zimbabwe to turn into the dictator mess it is in now and has been the last 20-ish years, breadbasket of Africa becoming the failed state it is today

They both are and aren’t. They represent the two axes of the West and the China crew, and with the exception of Iran’s so-called axis of resistance, basically all Middle Eastern chose to shut up and watch, or in some cases be complicit in Israel’s crimes. This is why some heavy regional powers, like say Egypt, aren’t doing anything of note. They were bought by America. To my knowledge the only country where none of what I said apply is Algeria.

Yeah they do. I’m not defending Middle Eastern countries, just saying why they’re not speaking up (aka because they’re all deep on the Israeli, and therefore American, dick).

It’s a sad fucking situation, basically everything sounds like a proxy war hiding behind a religious mask.

Thanks for having this conversation with me, really I am starting to feel hopeless regarding this situation. I know nothing I say will change the war but I am really supportive of the war ending and Palestinian people to get their freedom and autonomy. Israel military clearly has a power advantage and can dictate how brutal this war can be, they should have more restraint, otherwise they are just as bad if not worse. I still am of the opinion SA is out of place with the ICJ application, because it is not our fight, I now also realise it wasn’t wrong just in my opinion the incorrect method. But clearly now even if this war ends today there will be hatred for each other on both sides. This hatred will doom one or both sides

Exactly. I mean the main driver for the conflict is the Israeli desire for Lebensraum (back in the day there was the Palestinians wanting to kick all Jews out of Palestine too, but nobody’s taking that seriously now), but as for who’s supporting who yeah it’s a proxy war.

It’s a pretty bad situation, but it’s not as hopeless as it seems. The “Middle Eastern countries tell Israel to drop their shit” way of ending the conflict isn’t happening without serious regime change in multiple countries, but that doesn’t mean there are no options. Currently the most promising path, which is the one the Palestinian resistance is taking, is “make Israel slowly lose international sympathy and turn itself into a pariah state,” but as you can probably see it’s not pretty.

Oh I forgot: If you haven’t heard of it, look up BDS. They should have a list of things you can boycott or divest (pressure your government to boycott, basically) or otherwise pressure to help the Palestinian cause. It’s not as big as one would hope, but it’s probably the current biggest threat to Israel.

I’d be shocked if the Kremlin isn’t behind this move. Putin wants his puppet Trump elected so he can continue his barbaric land grab in Eastern Europe. Anything to make Biden look bad.

Well this war did drive funding and attention away from his war, also may assist in getting favourable leaders elected.
