Actually probably his best known work in the West is as an animator and key animator on almost all the episodes of Inspector Gadget.
As an aside, Inspector Gadget in Japanese is hilarious! Japanese Gadget has a deep mature heroic voice, as opposed to the nerdy Don Adams in the English version.
I had completely forgotten that Inspector Gadget was animated by a Japanese studio. Thanks for the reminder! I have loads of fond memories of watching that show with my younger brother. I am definitely going to check out the Japanese audio version. I love it when dubs differ in tone a lot.
Lots of old cartoons were outsourced to overseas studios. Batman for one has episodes that were animated by TMS and Sunrise, the cowboy bebop guys.
