Oh wow I haven’t seen this in ages but I’m pretty sure I had one. Did the iPhone have an app for it as well?
I had one as well, tucked underneath my shoe soles. I think the app was some kind of Nike Run Club App (similar to Strava).
Some of the touch screen iPods had it built it. But I don’t think it ever came on any iPhones (although don’t quote me on that one)
These actually got me into a habit of running almost daily for a few years. I think I actually went through three of those sensors.
This reminds me of the iPod radio remote!
