France’s largest farm union is considering staging nationwide protests in the weeks to come amid anger over a government tax on tractor fuel, competition from cheap imports, and excessive restrictions and red tape.

Indignez-vous!
Seems like Europe has a farmers uprising.
Good.
Like the uprising in the Netherlands where the Animal-industry attacked politicians to fight against the reduction of nitrate which is threatening groundwater? When police had to fire shots against those peaceful farmers who shot manure against the houses of politicians? Where the Animal-industry founded the populist, conservative BBB party to fight against regulations?
Or the one in Germany, where representative of the far right AfD has meetings with the dairy and animal industry to fight any regulations against the destruction of the environment? Where there were protests under the German Reich flag, attacks against politicians and dreams of a insurrection?
Those farmers are not like those in the books you read as a child, its a massive industrial complex which had never to face responsibility for the destruction they profit from. It is driven from the animal industry because they fear change which is necessary to ensure that we can grow food in the coming years and not have a barren wasteland.
Yay right wing protests against doing anything about climate change.
Yeah! Right wing because their basis of existence is being taken away for short sighted policies…
Man if only they knew about being right wing…
We’re talking about a group of people making self-proclaimed record profits last year, complaining about getting less government money.

Record profits due to inflation and one good year don’t change the fact that most EU agricultural products are produced for almost the same price as they are sold for, the profit is very small.
One good year? ONE?

Short sighted is not acting on climate change.
This isn’t about climate change
Yes it is.
Nope.
Yeah-uh.
If their basis of existence was that, they should’ve changed their business model years ago
Ah yes! Of course!
Not really good. In Germany, farmers protest for upholding the status quo, that doesn’t even benefit them. The status quo benefits industrialist, big supermarket chains like Rewe and Lidl, and big landowners.
This is one of the BS i have ever read.
You must not read a lot.
Climate crisis mitigation measures are going to make a LOT of people unhappy. You might be next
Climate crisis mitigation measures are like going to the dentist. It doesn’t make you happy, but not doing so will have you lose your teeth.
Protesting against dentists is kind of silly.
