My local buynothing page has a lot of keyboards. There was a mechanical one the other day, but I didn’t win the draw

I am so happy with the advances in keyboard technology. i have really heavy fingers when i type. Not physically, but I’ve always used a bunch of force despite my best efforts.

And love mechanical keys, so that makes everything super duper loud.

Thankfully there are entire youtube channels devoted to keyboards and I was able to find a board that can be mechanical and wonderful but not sound like the end of days whenever try and send an email or type out anything too long. ___

I still have nightmares about voice chat with people using those keyboards.

Brown keys ftw… shame it’s all super clicks or silent smooth as the mainstream

Late to this, but you can’t call tactiles “brown” anymore; ever since Cherry’s patent expired some 10 years ago the market has exploded. Right now I’m typing on a franken tester board with some 30 tactiles of different make and model, and I barely have scratched 20% of the tactile switches available on the market, by my estimation.

Tell me about it. It’s harder to shop now for silent tactile…

Didn’t even know that sort of site was a thing. I do have a few kits I want to pass onto people who will be able to use them. Thanks!

Yea they are nice to check out. I don’t always see things that I am interested in, but it’s great that the group exists. It stops a lot of stuff from going to waste
