Even if the thumbnails had a very small size limit, it would be great to have some kind of preview image for videos that are posted.

I have no idea how difficult or feasible that would be, but it’s one of the Reddit baseline features I miss. And there aren’t many, really.
I imagine a global thumbnail scraper similar to Reddit’s is already on the todo list. I must admit I miss this UI feature the most.
