Maybe the real issue is that we have trigger-happy meatheads who will gleefully smash in a door based on a phonecall so that they can play soldier against the population they’re allegedly “protecting?”
At the very least, they should treat anonymous internet phone numbers with suspicion. Or maybe change the phone system so that anonymous calls aren’t possible at all anymore.
Remember that bit at CPAC a year or two ago when they said “We are all domestic terrorists”? We should believe them.
We did, but those with the power to do anything about it refuse to do anything beyond a Susan Collins scowl and a hypocritical speech now and then.
Nikki Haley’s home has been swatted twice now. I don’t have any sympathy for her, but when Republicans are even swatting each other, things have gotten to the ludicrous stage.

Having a militarized police force show up on your doorstep ready to kill you because of an anonymous phone call has been a real threat to Americans for over a decade. Maybe now that it’s happening to the ruling class something might change.
