I believe she was. These fast running ground spiders do kinda freak me out. I love a stationary corner spider, a happy little jumping spider, a beautiful flower dwelling spider, an outside orb weaver, a hidey wolf spidey… but these wandering hunters that run at you instead of away… (European) mouse spiders aren’t really venomous in a way that bothers humans, but I put her outside.
I read once that the reason running spiders are creepy is that their movement mechanics are so different to ours, since they use hydraulics to extend their legs and muscles to contract, it gives a different cadence of movement that gives us the willies.
I didn’t think learning something new about spiders today, very interesting.
And yes, it does looks creepy.
