Because of Taylor Swift and her american government ties and legion of adoring fans, she not only personly led the Chiefs to tie in the last 3 seconds of the game, which led to an intense over time where Swift herself came on the field in the last few remaining seconds to score a win for her boyfriends team.

It has brought a tear to my eye from the enjoyment. Now i can not wait untill she leads our president on the campaign trial to finally put an end to Trump and his crazed zealots.

For crossword puzzle purposes, remember it’s pronounced amuck but spelled amok unless you’re reading archaic texts. 👍

My family was wondering why I was so into the Chiefs this year when I never cared about them before. Their overtime win scored me a future basket of free hot wings and a steady stream of Swiftcentric conspiracy theories. Can’t remember being this jazzed about a Superbowl outcome in the past 20 years.

But she forgot to endorse Biden! The Deep State, Nancy Pelosi and Saul Alinsky must not have gotten to her! She’s definitely going to endorse Trump at her next concert!

Not true, if you take all the shots of her during the game, splice them together in Star Wars machete order (starting with the fourth shot, then the 5th, then the second, adding in The Clone Wars, and so on) and play them back at 1.35927x speed, you can definitely see her mouth something that looks like “Vote Joe Biden.”

If you can’t see it, try reversing the feed at 0.83461x speed while standing on your head instead.

I’m in Kansas City and don’t really follow football THAT much but had been checking the score occasionally on my second monitor. I knew we were tied in overtime. Then I heard a bunch of gunshots in every direction and thats how I knew the game was over and we had won.

I was just thinking, how can we call it American Football if we don’t arm the players? Maybe just in the 2nd half, everyone gets a sidearm. After all, they’re basically a well-regulated militia, right?

The NFL’s first Super Bowl in Las Vegas was a sloppy, mistake-filled affair that was mostly boring until the back-and-forth fourth quarter and OT. It was the second of 58 Super Bowls to go to overtime.

lol this coming from an AP article makes me chuckle.

I’m of the very vast minority that LOVED the massive defense going. I love defensive games where it’s a battle of attrition and taking advantage of errors. It’s so good to me and I can’t stand high scoring games.

I’m a hockey guy though, so maybe that’s part of it? I like to see all parts of the system doing their part and not a single part of it (e.g., offense only) dominating.

Nick will probably only get to do that when CBS has the Super Bowl, and right now it’s in rotation with the other networks so they won’t get it again until 2028. Sorry. They do a few regular season games that way, though.

We switched to it after having some problems with the main stream, and the entire family agreed it was the best way to ever watch football.

The giant thumbs up between the uprights at every field goal or extra point should be standard, and the green slime flood at every TD was almost as good.

newly received or noteworthy information, especially about recent or important events.

Considering there’s about three or four subjective elements of that definition, I think we can agree that what is news to some may not be news to others, and vice versa.

Well, Sir or Madam, you clearly haven’t been paying attention if you think this wasn’t newsworthy.

Far-right influencer Rogan O’Handley went so far as to suggest that if the Chiefs won the Super Bowl, Swift and Kelce would trigger an apocalyptic chain of events that would kill millions. “You MUST defeat the Chiefs,” O’Handley wrote in an X post addressed to the San Francisco 49ers. “If you don’t, Mr. Pfizer and his girlfriend are going to tour the country as ‘world champions’ helping elect Joe Biden WW3 will likely follow in a 2nd Biden term and millions will die. The fate of the free world rests upon your shoulders”

Looks like we’re all going to die now, and without this discussion, how would you know that??!

Maybe not in America with the Super Bowl but sports can do a lot more than just “a bunch of millionaires throwing a ball around”. The Ivory Coast making the World Cup caused a civil war to stop; the qualifications between El Salvador and Honduras started one. Hong Kong beating China in 1985 caused riots in Beijing; while basketball has given America someone who can do diplomacy with Kim Jong-un because the Supreme Leader of North Korea likes basketball

I’m not a sports guy either, I made that clear elsewhere in this thread. But just because neither of us are sports fans doesn’t mean we have to pretend that sports can be a big deal to quite a few people on this planet. And the big championship game is going to be news.

There’s no reason to have a temper tantrum over the fact that a news website is reporting the outcome of a football game. This doesn’t hurt anyone in any way, other than those who are incredibly sensitive to the fact that sometimes they are exposed to things they don’t like.
