What to post:
Yes:
- Weird surreal image edit art
- Visual jokes
- Images that have been photoshopped to depict or mean something else than the original.
- Sbubby (logos or other text images edited)
No:
- Memes
- Politically motivated posts
- NSFW
- AI generated images or automatic filters:
- Using generated images in source material is OK, but the “photoshop” part must be real human labour.
- Posts where the subject’s identity is the sole point.
- Negative posts will receive a stricter interpretation. We want to avoid hate trains, even if the subject is a real POS.
Comments are open for further discussion and suggestions.
What if we avoid politics? This year is already getting out of hand in the USA with the lead up to the presidential election in November. Photoshop has an ability to start big, ugly arguments quickly.
I actually just thought about politics and bad faith posts. Again, gotta come up with a clear definition, but I want to at least avoid posts that are clearly politically motivated.
Sbubby-ish posts: yea or nay?
- Halo Kitty
- Barbie Doom Horse Adventures
- Wookies
I think yes, unless a proper specific community surfaces on lemmy later.
What’s a sbubby? Never heard of that term.
It’s a subreddit for editing logos, ads, and such.
https://www.reddit.com/r/sbubby/
Edit: [email protected] exists, but it’s a bit too dead to count.
No posts targeted at a person is probably a good rule.
Not OK:
- Posts where the subject’s identity is the sole point.
OK:
- Posts where the subject’s identity plays a part, but the focus is on something else. For example, the subject could be doing something interesting, wearing a strange outfit.
Where are you? This community is dope ! I’m FUCKING EXCITED ABOUT IT !!! LOL
Great to see someone excited, and thank you for posting your nonsense. Guess I really should spend some effort to keep this alive now that I started it.
Omg yes please 🙏 I love love LOVE this community and communities like it. It’s fucking so awesome dude. One of the best in my opinion! Keep it up!
Did you make any other communities by chance?
Rule suggestion: Top-level comments on image prompt posts must contain an edited version of the image. Further discussion is allowed as replies to the top-level comments.
Thoughts?
Separating discussion isn’t a bad idea. Could also reserve one top-level comment for a collapsible discussion thread.
You might want to take an official position on dank.
Some find that corruption/rot/evil is too-much, others want it to overwhelm the world, because it is “their thing”.
Pick a side.
