WK Kellogg CEO Gary Pilnick’s suggestion that cash-strapped shoppers should consider eating cereal for dinner garnered some harsh criticisms online.
I always thought these were the people that, while they can’t do the work of making the things, brought the soft skills to the table… like knowing how to read the room…
CNBC host Carl Quintanilla asked Pilnick if encouraging weary customers to eat cereal for dinner could “land the wrong way.”
Pilnick thought the opposite.
“In fact, it’s landing really well right now,” Pilnick said. “Cereal for dinner is something that is probably more on trend now, and we would expect to continue as that consumer is under pressure.”
This comes off like someone who won big shorting a stock, but in this case, he’s shorting us…
