I’m planning on doing grassroots drifting in the near future, but rally often makes me “OOOH” and “AAAH”. Such impressive control over a variety of terrain.

For me, it is endurance racing. WEC and IMSA. Been to Le Mans this year. What a crazy cool experience.

    Formula1.

If WRC was possible to actually watch and not hidden away on some obscure channel and an obscure time then easily that though. Just based on the spectacle.

Rally for sure, having control of a car going sideways by gravel is out of this world.

While (WRC) rally is interesting to watch for the driving and car control, the fact that it’s Time Trial makes it less enjoyable.

So I prefer Formula 1 because it’s an actual race. Everybody races at the same track at the same time, first one to cross the finish line wins. Overtaking is a thing. And the race can change on a dime with changing weather conditions and tactics for pitstops, accidents etc. Of course some tracks can be dreadfully boring where it just becomes a static endurance run from start to finish, but when the racing is good it’s so exciting.

When I was a kid there was Rally Cross shown on national TV. I wish they’d bring it back. They raced a few laps around the track. The cars look like normal cars, they banged in to eachother, the tracks were half dirt half asphalt, the teams were part amateurs and part professional teams

      Those are very good points.

I’ve got several friends that prefer Formula 1, probably for the same reasons. They recommend those races to both enthusiasts and non-enthusiasts alike.

Indycar. The races are always very competitive, a good mix of course types (speedways, road, street), and with all of their races held in North America, I have plenty of opportunities to attend the races in person.

Formula 1 and recently IndyCar. If I can watch a GT3 event I will. If I had access to Rally car I would watch that as well. I think I’m just an auto enthusiast lol

Probably a tie between rally and drifting.
