      That is what surprises me with this announcement: we moved a while ago from a more powerful, limited number of cores to smaller, more numerous, and less consuming cores. Power consumption increases to the square of the frequency of the processor, so what is the advantage of moving away from that model?

        Intel adopted a fast release cycle after the Netburst P4 days. They were able to stay dominant until they dumped that strategy in like 2017.

    Don’t worry about missing out on the performance of the 14900KS for gaming, though, as the cheaper Ryzen 7 7800X3D is likely to be just as quick, if not more so, in many games.

    Fastest ever stock CPU sure. But I believe there was some old AMD CPU that got overclocked to more than 8Ghz!
