So while Texas is basically entirely on fire, California is getting New York’s weather.

I have never hated CNN more than when I read that clickbait bullshit of a headline just now.

Agreed, it’s a terrible headline, but the story is accurate. California’s getting a lot more snow in a lot more places than usual right now.

Why is it terrible? It’s terribly accurate is all.

And actually already 167 mph wind gust recorded at Pallasaids in Tahoe. Forecast is for 12’ of snow. Highways completely shut down. Etc.

Highest from Palisades is now 191. There’s also been “thundersnow.” Shit’s wild.

          Wow for 191mph.

And yep! Was just awakened at 4am by a massive clap the shook the house and lasted maybe 15 seconds. We rarely get hit by thunder and this was massive.

That’s up in the mountains. The most any resident will see is ~2 to 3ft. These figures are always over the top.

Is that Donner Pass the actual pass where the Donner Party crossed? If so, holy shit, what a street to photograph for that

It looks like where the road passes through Truckee, CA, a bit east of the actual Donner pass in the mountains.
